British billionaire will help Ukraine build a new Mriya aircraft

British billionaire, founder of Virgin Galactic, Richard Branson intends to help Ukraine build a new An-225 Mriya transport aircraft. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks with Russia David Arakhamia in Telegram.

According to him, this and other issues of cooperation in the space sector were discussed during the entrepreneur’s visit to Gostomel. “He expressed his readiness to help in any way he can,” the Ukrainian politician said.

Arakhamia also noted that work on the new aircraft project has already begun.

On February 27, it became known that the Ukrainian transport aircraft An-225 Mriya was destroyed at the Gostomel airfield in the Kyiv region. The concern “Ukroboronprom” noted that the reconstruction of the machine will require approximately three billion dollars and more than five years.

Earlier it became known that the UK will allocate one billion euros for military assistance to Ukraine. Assistance will include drones and air defense (AD) systems. Thus, the amount of total assistance to Kyiv from the British side from the beginning of the special operation will be more than 2.6 billion euros.
